Tigers Claim Second NCAC Win Against Oberlin

Greencastle, Ind. - With total control in the first and third quarters, the Tigers claim a victory over Oberlin, moving them to 6-7 overall and 2-1 in conference.

The Tigers had three unanswered goals in the first quarter, giving them an early lead. Rosalie Tasker scoring in the second minute, Kate Leone following suit two minutes later, and Katie Jauchius at the seven and a half minute mark of the game.

The second quarter saw ten total goals, with five for each team. Oberlin's Megan Hiller opened scoring in the quarter with two goals, before the Tigers gained momentum and scored five goals in nine minutes. To close out the quarter, Oberlin responded with three goals within a minute.

The Tigers retained total control in the third quarter, putting up four unanswered goals and giving them a seven-goal lead heading into the fourth quarter. Kate Leone scored her fourth goal of the day with the Tigers' final goal five minutes into the final quarter, with Oberlin scoring three goals before time expired.

DePauw's goalkeeper, Niamh Callahan, totaled 5 saves on the day, while Oberlin's goalkeeper Emily Berger had 3 saves. DePauw totaled 22 shots to Oberlin's 18, the Tigers had three fewer turnovers with 12 to Oberlin's 15, and were 9 of 11 for clearing the ball while Oberlin was 12 of 15 clearing. The Tigers edged out Oberlin in the groundball game with 24 total ground balls to Oberlin's 22, and totaled 14 draw controls on the day compared to Oberlin's 8.

With the win, DePauw rises to 6-7 overall and 2-1 in conference. Their next game is at home, April 15th, against Ohio Wesleyan.
