Atlanta, Ga. - In a game in which neither team led by more than two goals, Oglethorpe took a 10-9 victory over DePauw. The Tigers dropped to 4-5, while the Stormy Petrels improved to 3-8.
Kate Sullivan scored seven of the Tigers' nine goals with three coming on free position shots.
Kate Leone led the way with two assists.
Mary Mason paced the Tigers with four draw controls and
Kinsey McAleece led with three caused turnovers.
Niamh Callahan recorded 14 saves in goal for the Tigers and led with five ground balls.
Adesewa Atiba led Oglethorpe with three goals with Ellis Mitchum and Anna Ramsden adding two each. Ramsden had a team-high three assists. Mitchum and Savannah Freeman had four draw controls apiece and Atiba led with three caused turnovers. Madelyn Gardner finished with 12 saves in goal with four ground balls.
Each team had 27 shots with Oglethorpe holding a 23-15 edge in shots on goal. The Stormy Petrels held a narrow, 11-10, lead in draw controls and a 21-19 ground ball advantage.
DePauw travels to Sewanee on Sat., March 28, for a 12 p.m. CDT contest.
