Tigers Drop Final Two Games in Florida

Clermont, Fla. - In the final contests at The Spring Games, 23rd-ranked DePauw fell to MIT by a 7-0 score and dropped a 10-6 contest to 19th-ranked Wisconsin-Oshkosh. With the losses, the Tigers slipped to 10-6 on the season.

Against MIT, the Tigers were held to just four hits with Ella Kuenster leading the way with two.

The Engineers totaled 15 hits in the contest with three coming from Ava Ladd and two apiece from Layla Theissen, Nicole Johnston, Arianna Kumar and Lauren Sundquist.

MIT did most of its damage in the bottom of the fourth when it scored six runs. The Engineers loaded the bases with nobody out and a sacrifice fly gave them a 1-0 lead before an RBI single, a two-run base hit and a two-run double followed. A solo run in the sixth for the Engineers wrapped up the scoring.

Izzy Deveau dropped to 3-2 with the loss, while Sarah Blackett improved to 6-0.

Wis.-Oshkosh grabbed an 8-0 lead with three in the first, two each in the second and fourth innings and one in the sixth before the Tigers kept the game alive with three in the sixth.

Six different Tigers collected one hit each, while Kelly Selzer had four of the Titans' 14 hits with Olivia Ullman totaling three and Emma Bohn two.

Alex Romero-Salas dropped to 5-3, while Kiran Sanford improved to 7-1.

DePauw opens North Coast Athletic Conference play on Saturday, March 28, with a 1 p.m. home doubleheader with Ohio Wesleyan.
