DePauw Splits Sunday Games

Elizabethtown, Ky. - DePauw split its Sunday games at the Pioneer Classic as it came back for a 13-10 win over Adrian before falling to Transylvania, 6-4. The 21st-ranked Tigers moved to 7-3 on the season.

In the Adrian game, the Tigers fell behind, 8-4, but a nine-run bottom of the sixth propelled them to victory.

Kelsey Schneider had three of DePauw's 14 hits with Libby Minobe, Ella Kuenster, Eliza Rammel and Megan Stieglitz each adding two. Kuenster and Rammel each homered for DePauw.

Karsyn Malinich had four of Adrian's 16 hits followed by Taylor Gerhardt and Peyton Russell with three apiece and Abbie Hoff, Meghan Kowalyk and Hanna Walker with two each. The Bulldogs clubbed six homers with Gerhardt and Russell hitting two each and Malinich and Kowalyk each totaling one.

Alex Romero-Salas improved to 5-1 with the relief win, while Hoff suffered the loss.

Transylvania took a 3-0 lead after three innings before the Tigers added two in the fifth. However, the Pioneers countered with two in the bottom of the fifth and one in the sixth.

Schneider and Rammel each had two of DePauw's seven hits with Avery Parsons, Malana Hamm and Emilie Young each collecting two of Transylvania's 10 hits.

Romero-Salas took the loss and Raegan Goddard earned the win.

DePauw returns to action on Sunday, March 22, with a 10 a.m. game against Augustana (Ill.) in Clemont, Fla.
