Lexington, Ken. - Saturday, March 14th, the Tigers fell to the Transylvania Pioneers in a 12-18 loss, with a slow start and four unanswered goals late in the 4th quarter being key troubles for the Tigers.
The Tigers struck first with an unassisted goal by sophomore midfielder
Noah Sulpizio. The Pioneers responded with five unanswered goals, with two from sophomore midfielder Jack Miller, two from sophomore attack Charlie Horner, and one from junior attack Andrew Welch. DePauw sophomore attack
Alex Sharma scored with a minute left in the quarter to make it 5-2, before Andrew Welch responded with a goal two seconds left in the quarter, making it 6-2 by the end of the 1st quarter in favor of the Pioneers.
The Tigers closed the gap in the 2nd quarter, starting with another goal by
Alex Sharma, followed by goals from junior attack
Jack Neff and freshman midfielder
Kam Shiver. Transylvania responded with a goal from senior midfielder Samuel Archer to make the game 7-5. Goals from sophomore midfielder

Gavin Berry brought the game to a tie at seven, before Jack Miller tallied another for the Pioneers, making the score 8-7 going into halftime.
In the first minute of the second half,
Oscar Kokke scored another goal for the Tigers, tying the game at eight. Transylvania's Andrew Welch quickly responded in the second minute of the half, scoring two goals within eight seconds of each other, making the score 10-8 for Transylvania. The Tigers'
Gavin Berry scored to bring the game within one, before Jack Miller scored another two goals to bring the game to 12-9 at the halfway point of the 3rd quarter. From then on, both teams went scoreless until the start of the 4th quarter.
Both teams traded goals in the first ten minutes of the quarter, with DePauw goals from freshman attack

Alex Sharma, and
Oscar Kokke, and Transylvania goals from Andrew Welch and Samuel Archer. In the final four minutes of play, the Pioneers went on a four-goal run that sealed the win for Transylvania, with another goal for Andrew Welch, two goals from junior midfielder Ben Gaccino, and one goal from junior midfielder Josh Harney.
DePauw's senior goalkeeper Anthony Reinheart totaled 15 saves on the day, while senior goalkeeper Ethan Kroll had seven saves for the Pioneers in the first half, and sophomore goalkeeper Nick DeGrandi had three saves in the second half for the Pioneers.
DePauw was 19 for 23 on clearing the ball, and Transylvania was 21 of 22, with the Tigers turning the ball over seven times during the course of the game, and the Pioneers turning the ball over 11 times.
With the loss, DePauw falls to 3-3, with their next game on the road, March 18th, in Naperville against North Central.
