Memphis, Tenn. - DePauw managed two singles in the final game of the weekend at Rhodes and the Lynx scored two in the fifth and four in the seventh for a 6-0 win over the Tigers. DePauw dropped to 3-2, while Rhodes improved to 7-2.
Clay Richardson led off the Rhodes fifth with a single before Austin Smith walked. Jace Trozzo followed with a two-run double to right.
Corbin Martens led off the seventh for Rhodes with a single before Brandon Trichell walked. Richardson reached on an error that allowed Martens to score and Trichell to move to third. Richardson then stole second and Smith drove in both with a double. Trozzo singled home Smith.
Zach O'Connell had a second-inning for DePauw, while
Grady Johnson had a single in the seventh.
Trozzo had two of Rhodes' five hits and drove in three.
Justin Benes dropped to 0-1 after allowing just two runs over six innings while striking out seven. Ben Daniel allowed just one hit in six innings to move to 1-0.
DePauw faces Manchester in a three-game series at Bishop Chatard High School starting with a Noon doubleheader on Saturday.
