Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw used a 17-2 first-half run to pull away from visiting Oberlin on the way to a 69-42 North Coast Athletic Conference and Senior Day win over the Yeowomen. DePauw improved to 12-9 overall and 5-5 in the NCAC, while Oberlin dropped to 6-15 overall and 2-8 in conference play.
The teams were tied, 11-11, late in the first period before the Tigers scored eight straight at the start of a run that gave them a 28-13 advantage with 3:52 left in the first.Â
The Tigers scored the final three points of the second quarter and the first seven of the third to extend the lead to 40-18. DePauw led by as many as 31 in the fourth.
Olivia Hart and
Lily Huntzinger each scored 15 in the win with
Diana Burgher chipping in 10.
Riley Mont grabbed eight rebounds with Burgher and
Alina Prusko each dishing out four assists. Mont finished with three steals.
Lily Najmulski paced Oberlin with 26 points and four steals with Gabby Peña-Hilzen leading with five rebounds. Angela Kumler and Ellie Pollock-Ballard had three assists apiece.
DePauw shot 46.7 percent from the field and knocked down eight 3-pointers, while Oberlin connected on 28.3 percent from the field. DePauw held a 44-25 rebounding edge.
The Tigers host Wittenberg on Wed., Feb. 11, at 6 p.m.
