New Wilmington, Pen. - The Tigers came back late in the 4th quarter to get their second win of the season over the Westminster Titans, 6-5.
Freshman midfielder Kam Shiver had a hat trick, with two goals in the 4th quarter to propel DePauw to victory. Following him, junior midfield Gavin Berry had two goals, and junior attack
Jack Neff had one goal.
Westminster had five different goal scorers: Sophomore attack Ethan Kurtz, senior midfielder Kyler Nigliazzo, junior midfielder Paul Dipasquale, junior midfielder Grady Tierney, and senior midfielder Asher Silberling, each scoring a goal.
The Tigers totaled 33 shots to the Titans' 45 over the course of the game, and DePauw had 23 ground balls to Westminster's 31. The Tigers turned the ball over 20 times to the Titans' 17.
DePauw had a season high of nine penalties, totaling minutes of man-down, but allowed Westminster no goals man-down. Westminster had two penalties, totaling two minutes, also allowing no goals
while man-down.
Strong goalkeeping kept the Tigers in the game as DePauw senior goalkeeper Anthony Reinheart had 18 saves on the day, and Westminster's senior goalkeeper Jordan Tate totaled
13 saves.
With the win, DePauw improves to 2-2, with their next game on March 7th, in Chicago against Illinois Tech.Â
