Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw opened the 2026 season by scoring the game's first five goals against visiting Lawrence on the way to a 14-3 victory.
Trevor Martay scored just 43 seconds into contest which started the run that lifted the Tigers to a 5-0 lead with 4:51 left in the first half. DePauw took a 6-2 advantage into halftime and then outscored Lawrence, 6-0, in the third to seal the victory.
Martay scored six goals for the Tigers with
Alex Sharma chipping in three and
Kam Shiver a pair.
Gavin Berry and Sharma each assisted on two goals.
JP Berdichevsky won 5-of-7 faceoffs , while
Evan Cleveland won 4-of-10.
Brody Carlson paced the team with five ground balls and
Nolan Childs finished with four caused turnovers.
Anthony Reinhardt recorded six saves in goals for the Tigers.
Truett Jones, Sam Williams and Judah Goehring each scored once for the Vikings. Devon Cooper won 9-of-18 faceoffs with Jones leading the team with seven ground balls and three caused turnovers. Tyler Graham recorded eight saves with Gavin Reiter totaling three as the pair split time in goal.
DePauw held a 53-18 advantage in shots including 25-9 in shots on goal. Each team recorded 33 ground balls and won 10 faceoffs.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, Feb. 21, with a Noon CST game at Carthage.
