Washington, Pa. - DePauw Field Hockey had their first shut out of the season, shutting down Washington & Jefferson 1-0 Saturday morning in their first NCAC match up of the season.
Hailey Nowak scored the games lone goal off an assist from Ella Morris. In the second quarter, 28-minutes into the game the Tigers descended on the goal. Dodging defenders, Morris fed the ball to Nowak and tallied the game winning goal for the Tigers.
Throughout the game, DePauw had a low conversion on their shots with W&J's defense consistently crowding the circle.
The Tigers edged Washington & Jefferson 22-0 and penalty corners 10-1. DePauw tallied 10 shots on goal, with Nowak recording five.
DePauw will return to action tomorrow when they visit Allegheny at 12 p.m. in Meadville, Pa.
