Danville, Ken. - Tigers walked away with a 3-2 win over Roanoke in overtime.
DePauw struck first with sophomore forward Ellie Lochhead, tallying her third goal and seventh point of the season off an assist from Hailey Nowak with a scramble in front of the cage.
Nearly two minutes later, Ella Mickey picked up the pace to net the second goal of the game for the Tigers at 11:15 off a break away run and a bound back assist from Lochhead.
Leading 2-0 at the end of the first quarter, the Tigers held back Roanoke until the beginning of the third quarter, when the hawks gained momentum and scored one goal each period of the second half. Regulation ended with a tied up game, 2-2.
Hailey Nowak led the Tigers in overtime, executing a fake out spin in front of the cage she slipped it past the goalie to secure the win only 37 seconds into overtime play.
DePauw edged Roanoke 16-4 in shots and 11-8 in penalty corners. Lochhead led the Tigers with three shots on goal.
The Tigers will return to action on Saturday when they head to Washington & Jefferson for their first NCAC match up of the season at 12 p.m.
