Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw opened the home portion of its schedule with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-21) win over Earlham. The Tigers improved to 2-2, while the Quakers dropped to 1-3.
The Tigers never trailed in the opening set and rallied from an 8-3 deficit in the second to take a 2-0 set lead. Earlham jumped out to a 10-3 lead in the third before DePauw later used a 12-3 run to grab the lead for good.
Madeline Ozersky led DePauw with eight kills, while
Julia McWaters had 14 assists.Â
Grace Myers led the way with 18 digs and
Jen Proeh totaled six blocks.
Caylee Brandes paced Earlham with eight kills and Ava Walters had 13 assists. Madison Bizjak finished with a team-high 23 digs with Jasmyn Meeker and Sheila Waruingi totaling two blocks apiece.
DePauw outhit Earlham .120-.013, but Earlham held a 34-30 advantage in kills.The Quakers led in digs, 77-71, but DePauw held a 12-6 lead in blocks.
The Tigers host the DePauw Invitational on Sept. 5-6.
