Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw dropped to 4-4 on the season after 14th-ranked Illinois Wesleyan blanked the Tigers 25-21, 25-16, 25-22. The Titans improved to 7-0
The first set featured 11 ties and five lead changes with DePauw's last lead coming at 16-15. Illinois Wesleyan scored the next four and six of the next seven to take a 21-17 lead. The Tigers scored the next four to even the score at 21-21, but the Titans closed the set with four straight to take a 25-21 victory.
The Titans never trailed in the second set before winning 25-16. DePauw grabbed the lead in the third and led by as many as six at 13-7. Illinois Wesleyan chipped away and tied the contest at 21-21 before scoring four of the last five points for the win.
Madeline Ozersky paced DePauw with nine kills, while
Julia McWaters totaled 13 assists and
Kendall Herrick added 12.
Addison Hooker led the Tigers with 15 digs, while
Kerry O'Connor,
Jen Proeh and Ozersky each had two block assists.
Alex Bardouniotis paced the Titans with 11 kills, while Taylor French added 10. Sophia Feeney led the way with 19 assists with Lauren O'Brien following with 17. Bardouniotis had 14 digs and Hannah Tellor had three block assists.
Illinois Wesleyan outhit DePauw, .239-.167 and held a 50-32 edge in kills. The Titans also held a 7-2 advantage in service aces.
The Tigers travel to the Hanover College Invitational, Sept. 12-13.
