Alliance, Ohio - DePauw opened the 2025 season at the Mount Union Invitational and finished with a 1-2 record. The Tigers opened play on Friday with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 29-27) loss to 16th-ranked Marietta before topping Alfred 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-18) on Saturday and dropping a 3-2 (25-20, 25-20, 23-25, 21-25, 11-15) match to host Mount Union.
In the Marietta match,
Kaiden Harrington led the Tigers with eight kills with
Kendall Herrick totaling 13 assists.
Jen Proeh paced the squad with three blocks and
Grace Myers finished with 17 digs.
Jillian Fellers had 11 kills for the Pioneers and Emory Spitler added 38 assists. Kamryn Haynes led with two aces, while Emily Piehler totaled three blocks and Fellers had 16 digs.
Marietta outhit DePauw .258-.103 and held a 47-32 edge in kills.
Against Alfred,
Madeline Ozersky paced DePauw with nine kills and
Julia McWaters led with 16 assists. Myers and McWaters each had two aces with Proeh totaling four blocks and Myers recording 16 digs.
Carleigh Santavy led the Saxons with seven kills and Delaney Sims finished with 19 assists. Jade Wolfer totaled three aces with Sims leading with 10 digs.
The Tigers outhit Alfred, .235-.020 and held a 37-21 advantage in kills.
In the Mount Union match, the Tigers won the opening two sets before the Purple Raiders battled back with three-straight set victories.
Ozersky led DePauw with 18 kills and McWaters had 15 assists. Myers finished with two aces with Proeh totaling nine blocks and Myers 26 digs.
Milly McKee had 13 kills for Mount Union with DeLani Durst totaling 36 assists. Averi Haley and Anna Mihacevich each had three aces, while Cami Welty led with two blocks and Haley with 22 digs.
DePauw outhit Mount Union, .228-.168 and led in kills, 62-57.
For her performances, Ozersky earned a spot on the all-tournament team.
DePauw opens the home portion of its schedule on Tuesday, Sept. 2, with a 7 p.m. match against Earlham.
