Winona, Minnesota - The Tigers rallied after their first loss at NCAA Regionals to eliminate Husson, 3-0.
The Tigers fought to get a lead in the top of the first, taking advantage of throwing errors and drawing corners for two straight bunts to get
Libby Minobe and
Macey Cox on the corners.
Katie Mathies drove one into left field, bringing home Minobe for the Tigers first run of the game. With Cox on third and Mathies on second,
Riley Heim laid down another bunt to drive home Mathies and Cox. With a couple hard fought battles at the plate, the Tigers ended the first inning, 3-0.
DePauw proved to be more lethal on the bases, recording six stolen bases, including two from
Angelese Cruz.
Katie Mathies led the Tigers with three hits, one run, and one RBI.
The Tigers edged the Eagles 7-3 in hits. The Eagles left four on base while the Tigers stranded seven.
DePauw returns to action for game four of NCAA Regionals with a rematch against Simpson at 4:05. The loser will be eliminated from the tournament.
