Crawfordsville, Ind. - DePauw banged out 13 hits in each game of its North Coast Athletic Conference doubleheader at Wabash, but the Tigers left 26 runners on base and dropped both games by scores of 7-5 and 8-5. DePauw slipped to 11-26 overall and 2-12 in NCAC play with the Little Giants improving to 26-11 overall and 12-4 in conference play.
In the opener, DePauw jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first on
Carter Knoll's solo homer.Â
Wabash reached the board in the third when Will McKinzie reached on catcher's interference, stole second and scored on Ben Henke's two-out single.
The Little Giants took their first lead in the fourth as Evan Neukam led off with a single and moved to second on Will Phillips' single. DJ Mendez advanced the runners on a ground out before Caleb Ellsperma singled home both with two outs.
Max Bond's leadoff homer in the fifth closed the gap to 3-2, but Wabash came back with two in the fifth as McKinzie led off with a walk and moved to third on Camden Scheidt's double. Henke drove in both with a double to make it 5-2.
Tyler Walkey singled with two outs in the sixth and stole second before scoring on Bond's single.
McKinzie's sacrifice fly in the sixth plated Phillips and extended the lead to 6-3.

Louis Florida singled with two outs and scored when
Bryson Dorsey reached on an error..Â
Wabash came right back in the bottom of the seventh when Neukam and Mendez doubled. The Tigers' final run came in the ninth on
Aidan Howard's solo homer.
Knoll had four of DePauw's 13 hits followed by Bond with three and Florida and Walkey with two each. Henke had three of Wabash's 12 hits with Neukam, Phillips and Ellsperma chipping in two each.
Jamison Lewis dropped to 2-7, while Caleb Everson improved to 6-3 and Jackson Woehr collected his first save.
In the nightcap, the Tigers again gained a first-inning lead as Dorsey's single scored
Drew Straub. Straub then added a solo homer in the third to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead.
Wabash evened the score with single runs in the third and fourth as Scheidt's sacrifice fly scored McKinzie and Phillips tripled home Neukam.
Scheidt reached on a fielder's choice in the fifth that scored Ellsperma and Will Fremion doubled home Scheidt to give the hosts a 4-2 lead.
Mendez's seventh-inning double scored Neukam before Ellsperma made it 7-2 with a two-run single.
DePauw closed the deficit to 7-5 in the eighth when Straub was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Knoll delivered a two-run single.
Wabash tacked on an insurance run in the eighth when Phillips singled with Scheidt scoring.
Bond, Straub, Dorsey, Florida and Howard each had two of DePauw's 13 hits. McKinzie, Scheidt, Fremion, Phillips and Ellsperma each had two of Wabash's 11 hits.
Jaylen Windmiller dropped to 0-2, while Dylan Haslett improved to 2-0 with Connor Lambert earning his second save.
DePauw wraps up the 2025 season on Saturday with a Noon doubleheader at Hiram.
