Oberlin, Ohio - DePauw wrapped up the North Coast Athletic Conference regular season with a 20-10 win at Oberlin to claim the league's third seed for the NCAC Tournament. The Tigers, 7-8 overall and 3-3 in NCAC play will travel to Wooster on Wednesday, April 30, for a 6 p.m. semifinal game. Oberlin finished its season at 8-9 overall and 1-5 in conference play.
The Tigers jumped out to a 6-1 first-quarter lead as five different Tigers scored. Oberlin closed to within two at 7-5 before the Tigers scored twice in the final 53 seconds of the first half. DePauw outscored the Yeowomen, 7-2, in the third for a 16-7 lead.
Kate Sullivan led the Tigers with six goals with
Bridget Driscoll finishing with four.
Caleigh Claar and
Mary Mason scored three each.
Rosalie Tasker totaled three assists in the win.
Niamh Callahan finished with nine saves in goal for the Tigers.
Larissa Andrick scored three goals for Oberlin with Megan Hiller and Kylie Thompson finishing with two apiece. Three different goalies combined for seven saves for the Yeowomen.
Driscoll finished with 10 draw controls for the Tigers and Sullivan totaled eight with Driscoll leading with seven ground balls and Tasker with three caused turnovers.
Sophie Ward, Phoebe Dolan and Rachel Reiter had three draw controls each with Dolan leading with three ground balls and Thompson with two caused turnovers.
DePauw outshot Oberlin, 39-23, including 23-12 in shots on goal. The Tigers led in ground balls, 35-19 and in draw controls, 21-12.
