Hiram, Ohio - The Tigers recorded their first conference win of the season, with a hearty 20-4 win over Hiram, raising their record to 3-7 and 1-3 in conference.
Jack Neff and Gavin Berry led the Tigers offensively, recording five points each. Neff tallied three goals and two assists, while Berry dished up five assists for his fellow Tigers to put away.
Noah Pulpizio and Neff walked away with hat tricks, delivering a combined six goals and nine points for the Tigers.
Nolan Childs and Carter Cassidy both scored their first collegiate goals against the Terriers, accounting for four of the Tigers points
The DePauw men's lacrosse team jumped to an early 2-0 lead over Hiram, Saturday morning. Neff netted the Tiger's first goal with a shot up the middle, evading defenders. Matthew Roman followed suit 10-seconds later when Roman won the faceoff and weaved through defenders to bring home another goal for the Tigers.
Hiram's Levi Willett answered the Tigers opening attack with a goal to cut the lead, 2-1. DePauw ignited a four-goal streak to challenge the Fighting Terriers, 6-1. The Tigers finished the first period strong with a 7-2 edge . DePauw carried momentum into the second period, netting eight goals and leaving Hiram scoreless.
With a thirteen point led entering halftime, the Terriers struggled to gain offensive footing with their second scoreless period of the game. Neff scored the Tigers lone goal of the third period with a shot from outside the arc.
Closing out the game, Hiram counterattacked with two goals to cut the final score down to a 16-point deficit. The Tigers tallied four more goals to set the final score, 20-4.
Aaron Zimmet recorded eight saves in goal for DePauw, while Aidan Griffin had 14 for Hiram.
Roman led DePauw with 16 successful faceoffs and 12 ground balls. Ethan Maraunde caused a team-high of two turnovers.
Bricen Jones paced Hiram with six successful faceoffs.
DePauw held a 59-24 edge in shots including 34-15 in shots on goal. The Tigers led in ground balls, 54-19, and held a 22-6 advantage in successful faceoffs.
The Tigers will return to action on Tuesday, April 15, when they host Wabash to take on the Giants at 7 p.m.
