Memphis, Tenn. - DePauw held an early 2-1 lead at Rhodes, but the host Lynx scored seven of the next nine and kept the lead on the way to a 19-12 win over the Tigers. DePauw dropped to 3-4, while Rhodes improved to 6-4.
Rhodes took the lead just 1:20 into the contest before
Kate Sullivan and
Caleigh Claar scored in a 34-second span to give DePauw a 2-1 advantage. The Lynx responded with three straight and held a 6-3 lead after the first period.
Rhodes still held a three-goal margin at the halftime break at 8-5. DePauw closed to within two on two occasions in the third before the Lynx pulled away.
Sullivan and
Bridget Driscoll each scored four goals, while Claar and
Rosalie Tasker scored two apiece. Sullivan and Tasker each assisted on two scores. Niamh Callaham recorded eight saves in goal for the Tigers. Driscoll had 15 draw controls and caused five turnovers with
Kai Coffee totaling six ground balls.
Caroline Kardian led Rhodes with five goals followed by Amelia Giese with four and Anna Erskine and Delaney O'Malley with two apiece. O'Malley assisted on a team-high four. Olivia Wood stopped nine DePauw shots. Bari Pinkett led Rhodes with five draw controls and five ground balls, while Maddie Bevier caused three turnovers.
Rhodes outshot DePauw, 33-29, and led in ground balls, 33-27. The Tigers held a 24-11 edge in draw controls and had 32 turnovers to the Lynx's 29.
DePauw returns to action on Wednesday, March 26, with a 7 p.m. home contest against Illinois Wesleyan.
