Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw finished with a 3-3 record at the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Leadoff Classic after splitting today's games. The Tigers defeated Alma, 8-1, before losing to top-ranked East Texas Baptist by an 11-5 score.

Hanna Coffel countered by stealing home as part of a double steal. Kuenster's fifth-inning homer made it 5-1, while

Mathies wrapped up the DePauw scoring in the sixth with a double that scored
Kelsey Schneider. Alma's lone run came in the sixth.
Kuenster and Mathies each had two of DePauw's eight hits, while Jordyn Porter had two of the Scots' six hits.
Riley Depa moved to 2-2 with the relief win and Mikaylyn Kenney dropped to 2-2.
Schneider gave DePauw a 1-0 lead in the first against East Texas Baptist as she scored when Mathies reached on an error.Â
East Texas Baptist broke through for three in the third before DePauw regained the lead in the bottom of the third on Mathies' two-run double and
Riley Heim's RBI double.
East Texas Baptist scored one in the fourth to even the score again before scoring one in the fifth and three in the sixth for an 8-4 lead. Schneider's single in the sixth plated
Angelese Cruz, but ETBU added three in the seventh.
Schneider, Kuenster and
Callie Rheinheimer each had two of DePauw's nine hits, while Tristen Maddox, Izabella Morales, Haylie Stum and Mary Frances Ellis each had three of ETBU's 18 hits with Tauryn Cummings, Emma Bell Bell and Katelynn Jones chipping in two each.
Izzy Deveau dropped to 0-1, while Madalyn Melton improved to 4-0,Â
DePauw returns to action on Saturday, March 8, when it competes in a tournament at Millikin University.
