Columbus, Ga. - DePauw defeated Stevens, 15-7, and lost to St. John Fisher by a 1-0 score on the second day of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Leadoff Classic to move to 2-2 on the season.Â
The Tigers scored an unearned run in the second before
Macey Cox singled home
Hanna Coffel in the third and later scored on an error to make it 3-0.
Stevens evened the score at 3-3 in the third with the final two coming on Kyra Fischer's two-run homer.Â
Coffel's RBI single in the fourth and Cox's sacrifice fly gave the Tigers a 5-3 advantage.
Riley Heim added a sacrifice fly in the fifth as did
Katie Mathies in the sixth before
Ella Kuenster and
Alex Romero-Salas delivered run-scoring singles in the sixth to extend the lead to 9-3.
DePauw added six more in the seventh to push the lead to 15-3. Mathies drove in one with a bases loaded walk with Kuenster adding and RBI single.
Libby Minobe's double scored two as well.
Stevens scored four in the bottom of the seventh for the final margin.
Cox, Kuenster and Minobe each had three of DePauw's 18 hits, while
Kelsey Schneider, Romero-Salas and Coffel each had two.Â
Emma Quattrochi, Fischer and Madison Subbiondo each collected two of the Ducks' eight hits.
Riley Depa improved to 1-1 with four-innings of scoreless relief while Fischer dropped to 0-3.
Against St. John Fisher, the Cardinals scored the game's lone run in the second as Taylor Shackleton hit a solo homer.
Madi Lockridge had two of DePauw's five hits, while Maddie Donlin had two of the Cardinals' four hits
Depa dropped to1-2 with the loss, while Molly Kuhn improved to 2-0.
The Tigers take on Alma on Sunday at 9 a.m. and top-ranked East Texas Baptist at 11 a.m.
