Oberlin, Ohio - DePauw shot 53.4 percent from the field including 59.3 percent in the second half on the way to an 80-68 North Coast Athletic Conference win at Oberlin. The Tigers improved to 12-10 overall and 8-5 in the NCAC with their third straight win, while the Yeomen dropped to 10-11 overall and 2-10 in the conference.
Oberlin built an early five-point lead, but the Tigers put together a 12-2 stretch to grab a 16-11 lead. The Yeomen regained the lead with a 14-4 run and led by as many as six after JJ Gray's 3-pointer made it 28-22. DePauw scored the next 10 to take the lead for good at 32-28 and led at the break 37-33.
DePauw used an early 14-4 run in the second half to push the margin to 15. Oberlin closed the gao to five with 7:35 left, but the Tigers'
Kyle Lillwitz hit back-to-back threes to start a 13-2 stretch that pushed the DePauw lead to 77-61 with 3:02 remaining.
Reph Stevenson led DePauw with 20 points and three steals, while
Caleb Washington and Lillwitz each scored 18 and
Sam Jacobs added 15. Stevenson and Washington each grabbed seven rebounds and Washington dished out seven assists.
JJ Gray paced Oberlin with 13 points with Andrew Gannon adding 10. Milan Micanovic hauled down 10 rebounds and Yuuki Okubo handed out six assists.
While the Tigers hit 53.4 percent from the floor, Oberlin connected on 40.6 percent. The Yeomen held a 37-34 rebounding edge.
DePauw hosts Denison on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 6 p.m.
