Greencastle, Ind. - After a slow start, DePauw outscored Wooster, 45-15, over the middle two quarters and pulled away for a 73-39 North Coast Athletic Conference victory over the Fighting Scots. The Tigers improved to 18-6 overall and finished NCAC play at 12-2, while the Fighting Scots finished the season at 5-20 overall and 2-12 in conference play.
The Tigers held a 12-11 lead after the first quarter and opened the second with a 14-1 run to push the lead to double digits on the way to a 32-19 halftime lead.Â
A 12-0 stretch to start the second half gave DePauw a 44-19 advantage with 5:52 left in the third. The margin reached as much as 32 in the third with the Tigers taking a 57-26 lead into the final period.
Ava Hassel led DePauw with 12 points and four assists, while
Olivia Hart followed with a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds.Â
Mackenzie Riccitelli paced Wooster with nine points with Ella Biondi and Ella Dean each grabbing four rebounds.Â
DePauw shot 42.9 percent from the field to Wooster's 29.5 percent and the Tigers outrebounded Wooster, 45-26.Â
The Tigers earned the number-two seed and a bye in the NCAC Tournament and will take on the winner of Tuesday's Hiram at Denison quarterfinal game in a 7 p.m. semifinal game on Friday at Ohio Wesleyan.
