Springfield, Ohio - DePauw extended its win streak to five after a 65-55 North Coast Athletic Conference win at Wittenberg. The visiting Tigers moved to 16-5 overall and 10-1 in the NCAC, while the hosts dropped to 14-8 overall and 6-5 in conference play.
DePauw led 21-17 after the opening period while shooting 53.8 percent from the floor. The Tigers extended the lead to 38-32 at halftime.Â
Olivia Hart's bucket and
Ava Hassel's 3-pointer gave DePauw its largest lead of the game at 43-32. Wittenberg was within five on multiple occasions, but
Alina Prusko's three near the end of the period lifted DePauw to a 52-44 advantage as the teams headed to the fourth.
Wittenberg closed to within six, but DePauw stretched the margin back to double digits to seal the win.
Hassel paced DePauw with 17 points and three assists with
Ainsley Boras grabbing eight rebounds.
Riane Burton led Wittenberg with 16 points and eight rebounds with Jazmyn Gaines-Burns scoring 15 and Karsen Karlblom finishing with 13. Taryn Cash handed out six assists.
DePauw shot 37.9 percent from the field to Wittenberg's 42.9 percent and the hosts held a 30-24 rebounding edge.
DePauw committed just eight turnovers with Wittenberg totaling 18 as the Tigers led in points off turnovers, 21-9.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, Feb. 15, with a 1 p.m. Senior Day game against Kenyon in Neal Fieldhouse.
