Albion, Mich. - DePauw shot season highs of 46.8 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from 3-point range and took a 77-66 win at Albion. The Tigers improved to 4-4, while the Britons dropped to 7-2.
The hosts led for most of the first quarter and took a 17-11 lead into the second period. Albion scored the first three points of the second to take its largest lead of the game at 21-11.
The margin was still nine at 25-16 before DePauw scored the next eight on
Alina Prusko's bucket and a pair of threes from
Hannah Lach and
Campbell Schrank.
Albion countered with a basket before Schrank scored buckets on back-to-back possessions to give the Tigers a 28-27 advantage. The teams exchanged baskets to end the half giving DePauw a 30-29 lead at the break.
Tori Allen and
Lily Huntzinger knocked down treys early in the third before
Diana Burgher scored a basket and
Olivia Hart added a pair of scores to cap a 14-0 run which gave DePauw a 42-29 lead. The Britons trimmed the deficit to 55-47 at the end of the third.
Albion was as close as four at 68-64 with 2:08 remaining, but Allen and Burgher scored baskets on consecutive possessions to push the margin back to eight with just under one minute remaining.
Schrank notched a career-high 17 points and Allen matched that and equaled a career best with five assists. Burgher scored 14 and
Riley Mont finished with 10. Hart led DePauw with seven rebounds.
Meghan Trewhella paced Albion with 17 points followed by Ava Guilford with 15 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Alexis Trine added 12 points.
In addition to DePauw's season-high field goal shooting, the Tigers held a 39-34 rebounding edge and committed just nine turnovers to the Britons' 15.Â

DePauw travels to Nashville, Tenn., on Friday, Dec. 19, where they'll face Simpson in the Music City Classic at 7 p.m. CST.
