10 Tigers Earn D3football.com All-Region Honors

Greencastle, Ind. - Ten DePauw student-athletes were recognized by D3football.com with selections to its all-Region 4 team.

Earning first team honors were wide receiver Robby Ballentine (Sr., Crown Point, Ind./Andrean) and tight end Palmer Samuels (Jr., Muncie, Ind./Delta).

Ballentine, a repeat selection to the first team after earning similar honors last year, led the Tigers with program single-season records of 92 receptions and 1,314 yards. His 16 touchdowns receptions are tied for second in school history behind his 20 last year. Ballentine caught at least four passes in each game this season and had at least one touchdown reception in 11 of the 12 contests. His 244 receiving yards at Centre on Sept. 13 broke a program record and he topped his own mark with 246 yards on Oct. 25 at Denison. In the Denison game, Ballentine tied a single-game school mark with 16 receptions. The 2025 Mike Gregory Award recipient as the North Coast Athletic Conference's offensive player of the year, Ballentine is a three-time first-team all-NCAC selection. He was a finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy and is a semifinalist for the Gagliardi Trophy Presented by Stearns Bank.

Samuels ranked third on the team with 38 pass receptions for 451 yards and five touchdowns. He topped the 100-yard plateau in an Oct. 18 game against John Carroll when he caught five for 106 yards. Samuels also rushed for 42 yards on 10 attempts.
 
Four Tigers were named to the second team including offensive guard Bennett Smith (Jr., Park Ridge, Ill./Maine South), center Zach Kerr (Jr., West Lafayette, Ind./Lafayette Central Catholic), defensive end Dominic Seibal (Sr., Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) and linebacker Owen Rossell (Sr., Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville).

Smith was a third team choice last year and Kerr was a second team selection in 2024 and the pair helped lead the Tigers to 421.5 yards of offense per contest while scoring 38.8 points each outing. Seibal, the 2025 Hank Critchfield Award winner as the NCAC's defensive player of the year, paced the Tigers with 15 tackles for losses totaling 105 yards. Included in that are 9.5 sacks for 89 yards. He finished with 40 total tackles, three pass breakups and two forced fumbles. Rossell led the Tigers with 66 tackles with 5.0 for losses of 14 yards including 1.5 sacks totaling nine yards. He led the squad with five pass breakups while forcing two fumbles and recovering a pair.

Third team selections included offensive tackle Rylan Watkins (Sr., Indianapolis, Ind./Park Tudor), defensive end Luke Nolan (Sr., Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville), defensive tackle Chris Green (So., Indianapolis, Ind./Ben Davis) and punter Buddy Gomez (Sr., Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral).

Watkins was a key part of an offensive line that allowed just 15 sacks during the regular season. Nolan, a third team selection last year, was second on the team with 11.0 sacks for 89 yards including 9.5 tackles for losses of 84 yards. He totaled 32 tackles with two pass breakups, two forced fumbles, one blocked kick and a fumble recovery. Gomez averaged 42.3 yards per punt with a long of 69. He landed 13 of his 38 boots inside the opponent's 20 and 10 went for 50 or more yards.

Only first and second team all-conference selections were eligible for nomination and only regular season statistics were to be considered.

DePauw finished with a 10-2 record this season and advanced to the third round of the NCAA Division III Football Championship for the second straight year.
