Robby Ballentine Selected as a Gagliardi Trophy Semifinalist Presented by Stearns Bank

Greencastle, Ind. - Robby Ballentine (Sr., Crown Point, Ind./Andrean) has been chosen as one of 15 semifinalists for the 2025 Gagliardi Trophy, Presented by Stearns Bank.

The Gagliardi Trophy, given annually since 1993, is awarded to the most outstanding NCAA Division III football player and recognizes excellence in athletics, academics and community service. The award is named after John Gagliardi, Saint John's legendary Hall of Fame head football coach who passed away at the age of 91 in 2018. John retired in 2012 with 489 career victories, the most in college football history.

Ballentine is among the nation's top wide receivers as he enters tomorrow's NCAA Division III Championship Third Round game against Wheaton with 88 receptions for 1,262 yards and 16 touchdowns. He currently ranks fourth in Division III in receiving yards, seventh in touchdown receptions and receiving yards per game and 11th in receptions per game.

In October, he was chosen as one of 16 finalists for the William V. Campbell Trophy®, college football's premier scholar-athlete award that annually recognizes an individual as the absolute best in the nation for his combined academic success, football performance, and exemplary leadership. He was the only Division III student-athlete chosen.

The Gagliardi Trophy finalists will be announced during a live show at 4 p.m. ET Thursday, Dec. 18, on D3football.com. Host Pat Coleman will profile the finalists during the program. The 2025 Gagliardi Trophy winner will be revealed on D3football.com during the week of the NCAA Division III football national championship game.
