Decatur, Ill. - DePauw scored 15 straight points during a stretch of the third period and moved to 2-2 with an 80-53 win at Millikin. The Big Blue dropped to 2-2..
Millikin led, 4-1, in the opening three minutes but DePauw scored the next five and never trailed the rest of the way. The Tigers led, 15-14, after the first quarter and 34-29 at the intermission.
The Big Blue cut the deficit to four at 36-32 before DePauw scored the next 15 to push the lead to 51-32 with just over five minutes left in the third. The Tigers took a 64-41 lead into the fourth period and led by as many as 30 in the final quarter.
Riley Mont led DePauw with 23 points and four steals, while
Hannah Lach added a career-high 12 with Olviia Hart and
Tori Allen scoring 10 apiece. Hart and Lach each hauled down seven rebounds and Allen handed out four assists.
Nikkel Johnson led Millikin with 24 points with Christina Rice grabbing nine rebounds.
The Tigers shot 45.5 percent from the field and hit 7-of-16 from 3-point range, while Millikin connected on 35.1 percent from the floor. DePauw held a 39-34 rebounding edge and committed just nine turnovers to the Big Blue's 22.
DePauw faces WashU in the opening game of the Midwest Challenge on Saturday, Nov. 29, at 2 p.m. CST.
