Greencastle, Ind. - With Saturday's 41-20 Monon Bell game win at Wabash, DePauw earned one of 13 at-large berths to the NCAA Division III Football Championship and secured a first-round bye. The Tigers (9-1) will travel to Wis.-Whitewater (8-2) on Saturday, Nov. 29, for a Noon CST second-round contest.
The Tigers, making their seventh appearance in the NCAA postseason and fifth consecutive, advanced to the third round last year after a second-round win over Maryville (Tenn.). DePauw bowed out to eventual semifinalist Johns Hopkins.
The Warhawks are appearing in the NCAA Championship for the 20th time with six national championships and four runner-up finishes.Wis.-Whitewater didn't appear last year after competing in nine of the previous 10.
The teams have met once with Wis.-Whitewater topping DePauw, 45-0, in the second round of the 2021 NCAA Football Championship.
