Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw senior wide receiver
Robby Ballentine (Crown Point, Ind./Andrean) has been selected to the D3football.com Team of the Week and as North Coast Athletic Conference Offensive Athlete of the Week for his performance in the Tigers' 35-28 win at Denison.
Ballentine caught 16 passes for 246 yards and three touchdowns in DePauw's win. The 16 receptions tied the program's single-game record set by Jay True against Butler on Nov. 4, 1978, while the 246 receiving yards broke his own mark of 244 set this season at Centre on Sept. 13. Ballentine also caught second-quarter touchdown passes of 11, 25 and 6 yards to lift his career total to 50 which leads active players on all NCAA levels.
Ballentine currently ranks second in Division III with 9.3 receptions per game, fourth with 65 receptions and 12 touchdown catches and fifth with 902 receiving yards and 128.9 receiving yards per game. His 16 catches are the third-highest single-season total in Division III this year, while the 246 yards are tied for fifth.Â
The Tigers, ranked 14th in the latest coaches' poll and 15th by D3football.com, are 6-1 overall and 4-1 in NCAC play and travel to Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday, Nov. 1, for a 1 p.m. contest.
