Green and Berry Selected to D3football.com Team of the Week

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw nose tackle Chris Green (So., Indianapolis, Ind./Ben Davis) and kicker Matthew Berry (Jr., Jacksonville, Fla./Bolles School) have been selected to the D3football.com Team of the Week for their performances in the Tigers' 31-27 loss to John Carroll. The complete team is posted here.

Green totaled four solos and one assist including 3.0 for losses totaling 14 yards. Two of those tackles for loss were sacks that covered 10 yards. He helped DePauw, the rushing and total defense leader on all levels of NCAA football, hold John Carroll to just 39 rushing yards and 1.7 yards per carry.

Berry connected on both field goal attempts and his lone extra-point try. His 51-yard field goal was the longest at DePauw since Tom Downham's record 54-yarder in 1987. It also marked the fourth-longest in program history and the longest since the use of kicking tees was eliminated in 1989. It also equals the fourth-longest in Division III this season,

The Tigers, ranked 16th in the latest coaches' poll and 17th by D3football.com, take a 5-1 overall record and a 3-1 North Coast Athletic Conference mark to Denison on Saturday for a 3 p.m. contest.
