Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw hit a season-high .337 on the way to a 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 26-24) North Coast Athletic Conference win over Kenyon on the Tigers' Senior Day. DePauw moved to 12-10 overall and 3-2 in NCAC play, while the Owls dropped to 5-16 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
DePauw never trailed in the opening set, but Kenyon jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the second. before the Tigers responded with a 9-1 run to take the lead for good and grab a 2-0 match lead.
The Owls again held a 4-1 advantage in the third before the Tigers scored four straight. DePauw stretched the lead to four points on a couple of occasions, but the Tigers were unable to pull away from the Owls. Kenyon regained the lead at 20-19 after scoring three straight and reached set point at 24-23 before the Tigers closed the match with a 3-0 stretch.
Jen Proeh and
Kaiden Harrington led DePauw with 11 kills each with
Kendall Herrick and
Julia McWaters each finishing with 19 assists.
Grace Myers totaled four kills and 15 digs with
Kerry O'Connor leading with five blocks.
Aura Barinas, Olivia Gumz and Mariyah Rumpca-Veronese each had six kills for Kenyon with Hannah Schwemm leading with 20 assists. Lauren Blakemore's three aces were a team high as were here 10 digs. Schwemm also finished with 10 digs. Becca Gwynne and Schwemm had three blocks apiece.
DePauw outhit Kenyon, .337-.117 and held a 48-26 edge in kills. The Tigers led in aces, 11-6 and in blocks, 6-5.Â
