Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw Field Hockey recorded a 4-0 win over Oberlin on Saturday afternoon.
Hailey Nowak scored the first goal of the game 31-seconds into play. Rosie Ondrla dribbled into the circle, turning her back on defenders to find an opening to Nowak who made a clear shot from the far right side.Â
In the second period, Maggie Volpe made a shot that ricocheted off the post. Ella Harms collected the shot on the rebound, dribbled till the Tigers had time to reset and passed to Ellie Lochhead for the second goal of the game.Â
Tiala Ortega tallied the third game of the day when Ella Mickey shot from the far left side of the circle, Ortega collected the blocked shot and sent the ball into the cage for the Tigers' third goal of the day.
Heading into the second half with a 3-0 lead, Ava Gallagher secured an insurance goal when Lochhead dribbled the ball to the edge of the circle and passed to Gallagher who shot a bullet from the far left side of the circle.Â
The Tigers edged the Yeowomen 25-1 in shots and 13-1 in penalty corners. Oberlin's goalie's made 10 saves in goal.Â
Saturday's win brings DePauw to a 9-4 (5-1) record and dropped Oberlin to 4-7 (1-6).
The Tigers will return to action tomorrow, Sunday, October 19th when they take on Wooster at 1 p.m. for Senior Day.
