Greencastle, Ind. - Visiting Oberlin scored the game's first 12 points, but DePauw outscored the Yeowomen, 32-15, in the second half and extended its win streak to five with a 67-57 North Coast Athletic Conference win. The Tigers improved to 9-4 overall and 3-0 in the NCAC, while the Yeowomen dropped to 7-7 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
The Yeowomen knocked down their first five field goals including a pair of 3-pointers to take a 12-0 lead just 2:27 into the contest. DePauw responded with a 14-2 run to even the score at 14-14. The teams finished the opening period tied, 16-16.
DePauw led briefly in the second after
Alina Prusko's three with 9:23 left in the half made it 19-18. The Yeowomen scored eight straight and led by as many as nine before taking a 42-35 lead into halftime.
Oberlin led, 47-39, after Camille Zinaich's basket with 7:18 left in the third.
Riley Mont countered with a bucket that started a 9-0 run and gave DePauw a 48-47 advantage with 4:04 remaining in the period. The Tigers took a 53-51 lead into the fourth after
Ava Hassel's basket with 24 seconds remaining.Â
The Yeowmen tied the game at 53-53 on Lily Najmulski's jumper early in the fourth, but another 9-0 stretch for the Tigers capped by
Moira McGinley's driving layup with 3:26 remaining gave DePauw a 62-53 lead.
Oberlin closed to 62-57 on a pair of scores from Angela Kumler, but Mont's jumper and McGinley's trey sealed the victory.
Hassel led DePauw with 17 points, five assists and four steals with Mont adding 14 points.
Olivia Hart and McGinley each scored 11 in the win.
Ainsley Boras snagged seven rebounds.
Kumler and Ellie Pollock-Ballard each scored 15 for Oberlin with Zinaich finishing with 10 and five assists. Gabby Pena's seven rebounds led Oberlin.
DePauw shot 40.7 percent from the floor to Oberlin's 35.9 percent and the Tigers held a 38-37 rebounding edge.
The Tigers return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 15, when they host Wittenberg in a 7 p.m. NCAC game.
