Franklin, Ind.- The DePauw men's soccer team scored fast and often in its 5-1 victory over the Franklin College Grizzlies. The Tigers improved to 2-01 for the season, while the Grizzlies dropped to 0-3.

The Tigers took under five minutes to score its first two goals of the night.
Braden Murphey scored DePauw's first goal off an assist by
Brady Smith and was quickly answered by Franklin's Britton Heinrich to knot the game at one. However, at the five-minute mark,
Julian Bell found
Matthew Fogo in the box, who then scored to put DePauw up 2-0 with well over 40 minutes left in the half.Â

DePauw would stretch its lead to four off an unassisted goal by
Tye Williams, followed by an own goal to end the first half. Down 4-1 in the second half, the Grizzlies slowed the Tigers offense significantly, giving up seven shots compared to the 12 in the first half. DePauw would ultimately put the game away with 53 seconds left in regulation.
Cole Bubalo fed the ball to
Kai Miyashita , who then chipped it up to Williams for an emphatic header into the back of Franklin's net.

The Tigers outshot the Grizzlies 19-4 and held a 12-1 edge in corners. In goal for DePauw,
Sam Ortner finished the evening with one save, while Franklin's Ian Rowe tallied two saves, and Easton Terry tacked on one of his own.

The Tigers return to Greencastle, Ind., on Tuesday, September 10, to host Rose-Hulman at 7 p.m. at Reavis Stadium.
