Tigers Sting Hornets in a 2-0 Home Victory

Greencastle, Ind. - The DePauw men's soccer team defeated the Kalamazoo College Hornets 2-0 at home. The Tigers move to 5-2-2 on the season, while the Hornets drop to 3-4-1.

After a scoreless first half, the Tigers caught a break in the 53rd minute when a Hornet's defender deflected Jack Pappas's cross in, who put DePauw up 1-0. Seven minutes later, AJ Hockstok found the back of Kalamazoo's net off a free kick 20 yards outside the box.

In the remaining 30 minutes of play the Tigers controlled the pace of the game, securing four of their five corners to close out the game. DePauw outshot Kalamazoo 24-3 and held a nine to two edge in corner kick attempts. Alexander Lundin finished the afternoon with one save for the Tigers, while the Hornets' Gavin Houtkooper recorded ten saves for the day.
