Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Tigers Shutout Blue Jays in Final Non-Conference Game

Fulton, Mo.- The DePauw men's soccer team tallied its fourth shutout of the 2024 season after defeating Westminster College (Mo.) 3-0 on the road. The Tigers improved to 6-2-2 on the season, while the Blue Jays dropped to 1-7-1.

From the first whistle, DePauw dominated the pace of play, putting up seven shots across the first 15 minutes of play. The Tigers eventually broke through in the 39th minute when Roman Girandola skipped a pass to Cole Bubalo who found Jack Pappas to put DePauw up 1-0. Less than a minute later Bubalo's pressure on the Blue Jay's backline led to a quick disposession deep in Westminster's defensive end. Webster then slipped a pass to Pappas, who scored his second goal of the day to extend the Tigers lead to two.

In the second half, DePauw continued to control the game, putting up another 12 shots and tallying seven corners across the second half. In the 84th minute, Matthew Fogo chipped a pass to Kai Miyashita for the Tigers' third goal of the evening.

DePauw finished the night outshooting Westminster 24-7 while holding a 13-1 edge in corner kick attempts. Alexander Lundin tallied three saves across regulation, while the Blue Jays' Hunter Deeken recorded 11 saves.

DePauw travels to Kenyon College for its first North Coast Athletic Conference on Saturday, October 5. The Tigers take on the Owls at 1 p.m. EDT
