Greencastle, Ind. - The DePauw field hockey team fell 2-1 to Rhodes College in overtime at home. The Tigers moved to 3-4 on the season, while the Lynx improved to 3-3.Â

The Tigers dominated the Lynx in the first quarter, putting up five shots while giving up none in its defensive end. The offensive pressure finally broke through in the 14th minute when

The two teams held each other scoreless throughout the middle portion of the matchup until the fourth quarter when Rhodes' Sheela Vasan capitalized on a crossed ball inside the circle to tie the game at one goal.
With momentum suddenly in favor of the Lynx, overtime play commenced, and just four minutes into the first overtime, Izzy Hendricks collected a penalty corner pass from Elinor West to lift Rhodes past DePauw for a 2-1 victory.

DePauw finished the afternoon outshooting the Lynx to 11-7. However, Rhodes put five shots on goal and was more efficient in its penalty corner execution despite the Tigers holding an 8-4 edge over the Lynx.
Scarlett Oaks started the day in the cage for the Tigers and tallied two saves;
Bella Lauber played in the cage throughout the second half and into overtime. The Lynx's goalkeeper, Catherine Gluodenis, finished the day with seven saves.

The Tigers will play again on Saturday, September 28, for their second conference matchup at The College of Wooster. The match will start at 12 p.m. EDT.
