Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw women's tennis team moved to 2-0 in North Coast Athletic Conference play after defeating the College of Wooster 6-3 at home. The Tigers improve to 10-5 overall, while the Fighting Scots drop to 3-11 for the season and 0-3 in conference play.
 
In pursuit of their second conference win of the weekend, the DePauw Tigers took an early 3-0 lead after sweeping doubles play. Alex Preston and Katie King earned the first win for the Tigers after defeating the Fighting Scots' Sarah Mashaal and Abby Williams 8-2 on court three. On court two, Valerie Doherty and Kat Wilder beat Abby Aitken and Margaret Steward 8-3 to put DePauw up 2-0. Ellen Gardner and Kassie Green completed the doubles sweep after holding off Otilia Oita and Janaki Jagannathan in an 8-7 (7-4) victory on court one.
 
In singles play, Kat Wilder would help extend the Tigers' lead to four after blanking Margaret Steward 6-0, 6-0 on court five. On court four, Katie King's 6-1, 6-2 victory over Abby Aitken would clinch the win for DePauw. The Tigers' final win of the morning came on court six when Bella DeNardo defeated Naledi Jani 6-3, 6-2.
 
The Fighting Scots's three wins were all decided in tiebreaking wins over the Tigers. On court one, Otilia Oita beat Ellen Gardner 1-6, 7-5, 10-6; Woosters' Abby Williams secured the Fighting Scot's second win after defeating Valerie Doherty 7-5, 1-6, 10-7. The final win for the Fighting Scots came on court two when Janaki Jagannathan beat Kassie Green 7-5, 6-4, 10-8.
 
The Tigers' next match is Saturday, April 13, against Ohio Wesleyan at 12 p.m.
