Tigers Defeat Fighting Scots 6-3 at Home

Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw men's tennis team extended their win streak to five after defeating the College of Wooster 6-3 at home. The Tigers improve to 9-6 overall and 2-0 in North Coast Athletic Conference play, while the Fighting Scots drop to 6-8 for the season and 0-3 in conference play.
 
The Tigers secured a 3-0 lead after sweeping its doubles matches. Chase Hutchinson and Hudson Mosher defeated Shivam Dewan and Max Stratford 8-2 on court three. Teagen Crow and Finley Buelte would grab the Tigers' second win after defeating Arnav Yadav and Anthony VanOyen 8-4 on court one. Completing the doubles sweep was Ryan McCook and Wils Warren, who beat the Fighting Scots Jay Dixit and Namit Misra 8-4 on court two.
 
In singles play, the Tigers were able to clinch the win early. On court five, Scott Anderson defeated Namit Misra 6-0, 6-2, and clinching the win for DePauw was Grayson Zylstra on court six with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Bennett Dickerson. The Tigers' final win of the afternoon came on court three, where Ryan McCook defeated Wooster's Arnav Yadav 6-4, 6-1.
 
The Fighting Scots would battle for its three wins of the afternoon, winning the last three matches in the tiebreaking game. Anthony VanOyen came from behind to defeat DePauw's Samuele Pia 4-6, 6-0, 1-0 (10-6) on court two. Wooster's Jay Dixit would defeat Finley Buelte 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (10-5) on court one, and on court four, Shivam Dewan held off Jake Louiselle in a 7-6 (3-0), 4-6, 1-0 (10-5) victory.
 
DePauw's next match is Wednesday, April 10, against Wabash College at 5 p.m.
