Delaware, Ohio - Host Ohio Wesleyan jumped out to a 4-1 lead after the first period and DePauw closed to within one at 4-3, but the Battling Bishops scored the next seven on the way to a 14-5 North Coast Athletic Conference win over the Tigers. DePauw dropped to 7-4 overall and 1-2 in the NCAC, while the Battling Bishops improved to 6-3 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
Jack Neff paced the Tigers with three goals, while
Jack Flynn assisted on a pair. Spencer Amacher and Carson Geier each scored three for Ohio Wesleyan with Brady Hunt pacing the team with two assists.
Anthony Reinhardt totaled 11 saves in goal for DePauw, while Paddy Colligan had seven stops for Ohio Wesleyan.
Matthew Roman won 12-of-21 faceoffs and had five ground balls, while
Matthew Garrigan had a team-high six ground balls and led the squad with three caused turnovers to move his career total to 111 and break the DePauw career record of 110 held by Donny Bleifuss (2016-19).
Ben Buroker and Christian Wolter each had six ground balls for Ohio Wesleyan with Wes Silver and Jackson Hamman each causing three turnovers.
Ohio Wesleyan outshot DePauw, 50-23, and led in shots on goal, 25-12. DePauw committed 29 turnovers to the Battling Bishops' 14, while Ohio Wesleyan led in ground balls, 36-30.
