Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw opened North Coast Athletic Conference play at Reavis Stadium with a 13-8 win over Oberlin and moved to 6-3 on the season. The Yeowomen dropped to 4-8 in their opening conference game.
The Tigers scored twice in the opening 2:30 of the contest, but Oberlin came back and tied the contest at 3-3 early in the second. DePauw rattled off four straight to grab a 7-3 advantage midway through the second before Oberlin closed the gap to 7-5 at halftime. The Tigers' lead was still two at 9-7 before they scored three straight to put the contest away.
Emily Napier led DePauw with five goals, while
Bridget Driscoll followed with three.
Graesen Campbell and
Marley Heitman each assisted on two scores.
Alexis Escobedo and Lauren Mills paced the Yeowomen with two goals each, while Abbie Patchen and Olivia Corradi had two assists apiece.
Stefanie Weyhmueller recorded six saves in goal for DePauw, while Janny McCormick finished with seven for Oberlin.
Driscoll paced DePauw with seven draw controls,
Maggie Little had three ground balls and
Quinn Tegenkamp caused six turnovers. Little followed with five caused turnovers.
Lauren Mills led Oberlin with four ground balls and Phoebe Dolan had four draw controls.
DePauw outshot Oberlin, 32-23, and had a 20-14 edge in shots on goal. Oberlin led in ground balls, 23-18, and the Yeowomen committed 24 turnovers to DePauw's 20.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, April 13, with a 1 p.m. game at Ohio Wesleyan.
