Gambier, Ohio - DePauw jumped out a 4-1 lead in the opening quarter, but Kenyon outscored the Tigers, 18-3, the rest of the way for a 19-7 North Coast Athletic Conference win. The Tigers dropped to 8-6 overall and finished NCAC play at 3-3, while the Owls moved to 7-7 overall and 3-3 in the NCAC. By virtue of tiebreakers, DePauw earned the number-four seed in next week's NCAC Tournament and will travel to top-seed Denison on Wednesday, May 1.
Kate Leone put DePauw ahead just 35 seconds into the contest before Alex Tiatia evened the score just 51 seconds later.
Graesen Campbell scored two in 42 seconds and
Emily Napier added one with 5:22 left in the quarter to give DePauw a 4-1 lead. Kenyon stopped the run with a pair of goals before
Caleigh Claar made it 5-3 with 1:17 remaining in the period.
The Owls scored two early in the second to tie the contest and Napier put DePauw back in front, 6-5, with 10:08 left in the half. Kenyon, however, closed the half with six straight for an 11-6 lead. The Owls outscored the Tigers, 8-1, over the final 30 minutes.
Napier, Campbell and Leone each scored two for DePauw with
Bridget Driscoll adding three assists. Campbell broke the DePauw career points record of 174 held by Emma Kennedy (2019-22).
Kate Lengel paced Kenyon with four goals with Lily Mason and Ali Hatfield each chipping in three. Spencer Kirsch assisted on two.
Lydia Hollis recorded 14 saves in goal for DePauw with Nola Garand totaling 10 for Kenyon.
Driscoll led DePauw with six draw controls, five ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Tiatia paced Kenyon with five draw controls, while Harfield and Maren Helmacy each had four ground balls.
Kenyon outshot DePauw, 41-25, including 33-17 in shots on goal. The Owls held a 23-18 edge in ground balls and 16-14 in draw controls. DePauw committed 20 turnovers to Kenyon's 18,
