Granville, Ohio - Top-seed Denison held fourth-seed DePauw scoreless for just over three quarters and advanced to the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament championship game with an 18-2 semifinal win over the Tigers. The Big Red improved to 13-4, while DePauw dropped to 8-7.
Denison led 13-0 at the half and stretched the advantage to 17 early in the fourth before
Emily Napier and
Caleigh Claar put the Tigers on the board. Mary Martinson led Denison with three goals, while Bridget Sheehy had two assists.
Lydia Hollis recorded 10 saves in goal for DePauw, while Julianne Henigan had six stops and Audrey Hughes totaled three.
Bridget Driscoll paced DePauw with six draw controls, while
Quinn Tegenkamp had two ground balls and
Caroline Simon caused two turnovers.
Martinson paced the Big Red with three draw controls, while Mary Daniel, Merrill Rollhaus and Grace Schlossberg had two ground balls apiece.
Denison held a 37-14 advantage in shots including 28-11 in shots on goal. DePauw totaled 13 turnovers to Denison's seven with the hosts leading in ground balls, 13-7. The Big Red led in draw controls, 13-10.
