Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw scored the game's first goal, but Denison scored seven straight on the way to a 19-4 North Coast Athletic Conference win. The Tigers dropped to 6-5 overall and 3-2 in the NCAC, while Denison improved to 10-4 overall and 4-0 in the conference.
Graesen Campbell's goal 2:51 into the contest gave DePauw a 1-0 lead, but Denison countered just 17 seconds later to start a 7-0 run that extended into the early portion of the second period. The Big Red led at the intermission, 11-3, and then scored eight straight to seal the win.
Caleigh Claar paced DePauw with two goals, while
Lydia Hollis stopped 15 shots in goal.
Bridget Driscoll and Claar each had two draw controls, while Driscoll,
Marley Heitman and
Maggie Little each recorded three ground balls. Driscoll caused a team-high four turnovers.
Anna DeVuono led Denison with four goals followed by three each from Josie Lucchesi, Mary Washington and Jamie Epstein. Bridget Sheehy had a team-high four assists. Julianne Henigan had three saves in goal for Denison.
Denison held a 45-8 edge in shots including 34-7 on goal. DePauw had 26 turnovers to the Big Red's 14 and the Tigers held a 22-9 advantage in ground balls. The Big Red led in draw controls, 17-7.
DePauw hosts Wooster on Saturday, April 20, in a 2:30 p.m. contest.
