Greencastle, Ind.- DePauw completed its first weekend at home with its second doubleheader sweep over Ohio Wesleyan by scores of 13-9 and 12-0, with game two decided in five innings. The Tigers improved to 14-11-1 overall and 4-0 in North Coast Athletic Conference play, while the Battling Bishops fell to 11-8-1 and 0-2 in conference play.

In game one, Ohio Wesleyan found its swing early, putting three runs on the board in the opening inning and forcing the Tigers to play from behind. DePauw answered quickly, filling the bases, and with no outs,
Emily Timberman stepped up to bat and hit a grand slam, giving the Tigers a 4-3 lead in the first. Twenty minutes and five runs later, DePauw led Ohio Wesleyan 9-3 after the first inning.Â

The two teams were scoreless in the second inning; however, in the top of the third, the Battling Bishops found themselves with bases loaded and strung six runs together to tie the game at nine apiece.Â

The game swung back in favor of the Tigers after
Riley Heim found the gap in the left field and scored Riley DePa for a one-run lead.
Katie Mathies laid down a bunt that advanced Heim to second and forced the Battling Bishops to make a play at home, ultimately allowing
Ella Kuenster to score for an 11-9 lead. DePauw would tack on two more runs following a popped single into center field by
Callie Rheinheimer, who scored
Goose Moore and Heim for a 13-9 lead.

Kuenster had four of DePauw's 14 hits, while Ohio Wesleyan's Alyssa Back and Sophie Leohner had two hits for the Battling Bishops.

Riley Depa improved to 2-4 for DePauw, with Kaelyn Rodriguez dropping to 4-2.

In game two, Timberman's single to left field brought in Moore and advanced Mathies to third to give an early 1-0 lead.
Kelsey Bernhard would ground out off a sacrifice bunt, bringing Mathies in for the Tigers' second run of the first inning. DePauw would complete the bottom of the first with four runs following a double to right field by
Alyssa Anderson, which brought home
Libby Minobe and
Emily Timberman.

The Tigers would score at least one run for the remaining three innings, bringing runners home off of three doubles, two sacrifice at-bats, and a two-run home run by Mathies.Â

Moore and Mathies had three hits apiece, while DePauw gave up just two hits to the Battling Bishops Alyssa Back and C. Vanden Eyden.Â
Depa picked up her third win, improving to 3-4 for the season, while Ohio Wesleyan's Makenna Knisley dropped to 3-2.

DePauw travels to Franklin, Ind., to face Franklin College on Wednesday, April 17, in a 3:30 p.m. doubleheader.
