Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw opened the home and North Coast Athletic Conference portion of its schedule with a doubleheader sweep of Kenyon by scores of 8-0 and 9-0 with both decided in five innings. The Tigers moved to 12-11-1 overall and 2-0 in the NCAC, while the Owls dropped to 13-11 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
Emily Timberman's two-run homer in the first of the opener gave the Tigers all they needed. DePauw tacked on three each in the second and third innings.
Alyssa Anderson had two of DePauw's six hits, while three different Owls collected one hit each.
Riley Depa improved to 1-4 for DePauw with Kylie Hamm dropping to 8-6.
In the nightcap,
Katie Mathies delivered the opening-inning fireworks with a solo homer. The Tigers then added two in the second and three each in the third and fourth innings.
Mathies had two of DePauw's eight hits, while Sophia Lynch collected Kenyon's lone hit.
Peyton Rohr improved to 2-1 with the win in relief of
Alex Romero-Salas. Amanda Harris dropped to 0-2.Â
