Indianapolis, Ind. - DePauw scored three runs in each of the first four innings on the way to a 13-3 win over Manchester in a game shortened to seven innings due to the run rule at Bishop Chatard High School. The Tigers improved to 3-4, while the Spartans dropped to 3-5.
DePauw took advantage of two Manchester errors in the opening frame to grab a 3-0 lead before Joel Kennedy hit a solo homer in the bottom of the inning. The Tigers scored three more in the second as

Max Bond came home when
Grady Johnson reached on an error.
Danny Glimco's double plated Johnson to make it 6-1.
Macon tripled in the third and scored on a passed ball before Johnson and Glimco added RBI singles to push the lead to 9-1.
Carter Knoll singled in the fourth, stole second and moved to third on Macon's ground out before coming home on Bond's triple. After
Aidan Howard walked, Sucher drove in Bond with a double and Howard later scored on a wild pitch to make it 12-1.
Manchester's Griffin Garwood delivered a fifth-inning sacrifice fly that brought home pinch-runner Mitchell Cobb before Howard lifted a sacrifice fly in the sixth that scored
Hunter Hrbek. The Spartans rounded out the scoring in the bottom of the sixth as Harrison Pittsford walked, moved to third on Austin Knowles' single and scored on an error.
Johnson and Glimco each had two of DePauw's nine hits, while Gavin Gleason had two of the Spartans' five hits.
Michael Vallone improved to 2-0 after striking out nine and walking just one in six innings before
Ben Axelrod struck out two in finishing the Spartans off with a one-two-three seventh. Rocco Hanes dropped to 1-2 for Manchester.
The two teams square off tomorrow in a Noon doubleheader at Bishop Chatard High School.
