Indianapolis, Ind. - DePauw moved to 5-4 on the season after sweeping a doubleheader against Manchester (3-7) by scores of 14-2 and 14-4 with both games shortened due to the run rule.Â
In the opener, Manchester jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first as Rocco Hanes reached on a fielder's choice before Harrison Pittsford hit a fly ball to left that was lost in the sun and dropped for an RBI double.
The Tigers got on the board in the fifth as
Carter Knoll led off by being hit by a pitch and moved to third on a failed pickoff from the catcher. After
Nate Hulen walked, Hunter Hrebek reached on an error that scored Knoll.
Cameron Macon's fly out to center moved the runners up a base and Hulen scored on a wild pitch giving DePauw a 3-2 lead.
The Spartans evened the count in the sixth as Hanes singled with one out and Pittsford walked. Vian Mariani's grounder advanced the runners before Hanes scored on a balk.
Hunter Hrbek led off the seventh with a single, moved to second on Macon's sacrifice bunt and to third on
Max Bond's single through the left side. Pinch-hitter
Chase Stratman then delivered a single to the right of the second baseman that allowed Hrbek to score.
Ty Sucher's single loaded the bases and
Grady Johnson brought home two with a single to left.
Danny Glimco followed with a homer to left center to make it 8-2.

Jack Murray drew walks to lead off the eighth before pinch-hitter
Eli Bell lifted a sacrifice fly to right to score Macon.
Grady Johnson's single through the right side brought home Bond and
Carter Knoll ended the game with a homer to right.
Nine different Tigers had hits with Johnson totaling two as DePauw finished with 10. Joel Kennedy had two of Manchester's five hits.
Pearse Riendeau improved to 1-1 after allowing two runs in seven innings with nine strikeouts. Ty Layson dropped to 0-2.
Manchester again jumped out to a first-inning lead in the nightcap as Austin Knowles led off with a double and Kennedy drove him in with a two-bagger. Gavin Gleason's two-out single to center plated Kennedy and made it 2-0.
DePauw countered in the bottom of the first as
Drew Straub was hit by a pitch and Sucher singled. Johnson's grounder moved the runners up before Knoll and Hrbek came through with back-to-back RBI singles to even the score at 2-2.
Knoll scored on a wild pitch later in the inning before Bond knocked in a pair with a single to make it 5-2.
Ty Sucher's bases-loaded triple pushed the lead to 8-2 after one inning.
The scoring resumed in the fourth as Gleason led off with a single before Michael Dierckman advanced him to second with a sacrifice bunt. Crosby Heniser then reached on an error that allowed Gleason to score. Jacob McGrath followed with a single that scored Heniser and made it 8-4
DePauw responded in the bottom of the frame  as Hrbek singled and moved to second on a wild pitch.
Louis Florida was hit by a pitch and Macon doubled both of them home. Bond singled and stole second before Sucher delivered a triple down the right field line that scored Bond and gave the Tigers an 11-4 lead.
Glimco drove in a pair with a double in the sixth to push the lead to 13-4. In the DePauw eighth,
Drew Straub singled,
Eli Bell was hit by a pitch and Murray walked to load the bases.
Cooper Davis then walked with the bases loaded and two outs to end the contest.
DePauw totaled 14 hits led by three each from Scher and Knoll and two from Straub, Hrbek and Bond. Hanes had three of Manchester's nine hits with Knowles and Gleason finishing with two each.
Nate Tencza moved to 1-2 after allowing two earned runs in five innings.
Charlie Hawk struck out four in three innings and earned his first save. Jared Holley dropped to 0-2.
