DePauw Evens Record at 2-2 with Win over Anderson

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw scored three times in the opening five minutes of its game with visiting Anderson and then had a stretch of 10 straight goals on the way to an 18-4 win over the Ravens. The Tigers moved to 2-2 on the season, while Anderson dropped to 2-3.

Gavin Berry, Jack Flynn and Beckett Tasker gave the Tigers a 3-0 lead before Anderson took advantage of a man-up situation as Rick Kaufman scored with 6:08 left in the opening quarter. Berry scored with 38 seconds remaining in the first to push the lead to 4-1.

The Tigers scored six times in the second as Connor Gibson and Tasker each scored a pair with Flynn and Berry adding single goals for a 10-1 lead at the intermission.

DePauw extended the lead to 13-1 in the third as Gibson scored followed by two from Tasker. Each team scored twice in the final minute of the third with Anderson's Mason Bratcher delivering the first two before Jack Neff and Gibson scored in a 13-second stretch for the Tigers to make it 15-3.

Anderson's Abram Zimmerman cut the lead to 15-4 early in the fourth before Berry, Jack Brand and Tasker wrapped up the scoring for the Tigers.

Tasker led the Tigers with six goals followed by Gibson and Berry with four each. Flynn and Neff each assisted on three of the goals. Bratcher paced the Ravens with two goals.

Anthony Reinhardt had three saves in one half of action, while Aaron Zimmet and Anton Berg each stopped one shot. Spencer Pruden finished with 22 saves for Anderson.

Matthew Roman led DePauw with 13 ground balls as he won 20-of-22 faceoffs. Charlie Rodriguez, Brand and Matthew Garrigan each caused three turnovers.

Pruden totaled eight ground balls for the Ravens and Bratcher caused seven turnovers.

DePauw outshot Anderson, 57-17, including 40-9 on goal and held a 53-29 edge in ground balls. The Tigers totaled 22 turnovers to Anderson's 31.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday, March 9, when they host Trine at 1 p.m.
